CPBL commissioner Jenn-Tai Hwang met NPB commissioner Ryozo Kato at the league offices in Tokyo on Wednesday to discuss a number of issues, including, but not limited to, a series of international games in November involving the CPBL and Samurai Japan (nothing concrete was decided) and the NPBs continued support with the CPBL Winter League in November.

NPB commissioner Kato spoke to reporters about baseball and softball's bid to make it back into the Olympics and admitted that it was going to be difficult to compete against wrestling.  He is still fully committed to the cause and will be traveling to Buenos Aires today to lend his support.

The JPBPA will host a play catch event, with support from KONAMI, at the upcoming Tokyo Sports Expo 2013 (September 7-8).  Open spaces to play catch will be available from 11:00 to 16:00 on the 7th and from 9:00 to 15:00 on the 8th.  Former professional players (Masayuki Matsunuma and Keiji Fukui) will make special appearances to help newcomers during two one-hour sessions on the 7th (13:00-14:00 and 15:00-16:00).

A baseball video game corner will also be set up for people interested in trying the newest installment of Jikkyo Powerful Pro Yakyu 2013 (release date: October 24).
