Ryosuke Miyaguni's start on Wednesday was rained out.  He will probably not get another start until next week.

The Giants will likely stick with the trio of Hirokazu Sawamura, Toshiya Sugiuchi, and Tomoyuki Sugano for the upcoming three-game series against Hanshin at Koshien.

Chunichi Dragons

Masahiko Morino knocked out the 150th home run of his career on Thursday and became the 158th player in NPB history to reach the milestone.  Morino hit his first home run on August 29, 1997.

Yakult Swallows

If Wladimir Balentien is going to break the single-season home run record, he wants to do it at Jingu Stadium.

The Swallows will play three games at Nagoya Dome before heading back to Jingu for six games - Hiroshima (10th-12th) and Hanshin (13th-15th).  If Balentien hits number fifty-six at Jingu, the Swallows will celebrate by offering discounts on servings of sparkling and red wine (from the regular price of 500 yen to 200 yen).

Tuffy Rhodes walked four times in six games after he recorded his fiftieth home run in 2001; Cabrera walked six times in 2002; Balentien walked ten times.

Hanshin Tigers

The Tigers were planning to add Minoru Iwata to the active roster to help out in the bullpen, but with Jason Standridge still a question mark, they decided instead to give him a start at Ni-gun against Orix on the 6th in case they need him to pick up a start at Ichi-gun next week.  Kazuhito Futagami could also be an option if Standridge is not ready to return to the active roster.

Randy Messenger likes to call Yokohama Stadium Joke-ahama Stadium because of its comfy confines, as in, "this stadium is so small it must be a joke."
