Softbank Hawks

Yuki Yanagita did not play in tonight's game against Seibu because of cellulitis on his right leg.  He did not attend practices since he was getting treatment at a Fukuoka hospital.  He will not be taken off the active roster for the time being because the Hawks do not expect him to miss too many days.

Ken Ray took a batted ball near his right temple in the 2nd inning of tonight's game against Lotte (Daichi Suzuki was the batter).  Casey McGehee rushed over and helped him to the dugout.  Ray was taken to a Chiba hospital in an ambulance and later diagnosed with a fracture in his right cheekbone.  There was no apparent damage to the brain.  He will undergo a full examination on Wednesday.

Darrell Rasner returned to the US on Monday to get another opinion on his right elbow.  There is a chance he might require surgery.  Depending on how things turn out, this could end up being his last year with the Eagles.

Rasner first felt discomfort in his right elbow during a game against Lotte on August 24.
