Nippon Ham Fighters

The Fighters are planning to shift Sho Nakata back to third base next season.  Officials have already broached the subject with him.

Nataka was drafted as an infielder and began his career at third.  He had difficulties throwing the ball and was moved to first in 2009.  He started working in the outfield in 2010 and won an everyday spot in left in 2011.

Softbank Hawks

Through Thursday, Yuya Hasegawa had nineteens modashos.  The franchise record of twenty was set by Yoshinori Hirose in 1964.  The NPB record of twenty-seven, since the start of the two-league format, was set by Tsuyoshi Nishioka in 2010.

Rakuten Eagles

Construction on the new stands in left at Kleenex Stadium is complete.  Stadium capacity will now be 25,651.  The two new sections added to Kleenex Stadium this year have been given nicknames: the seats in left will be called Kurikoma and the seats on the infield, third base side will be called Zao.  The names come from mountains in Miyagi Prefecture.

The Eagles recorded their thirty-first come-from-behind victory on Thursday (eight have come against Lotte).  They also clinched their second winning season, first since 2009 when they went 77-66-1.  With seventy-two wins so far this year, they are five games away from tying the franchise high for victories in a season.
