[9/18/2013] Injury Updates: Nakata (CHU), Blanco (YOK), Nakata (HAM), Kikuchi (SEI)

Chunichi Dragons

Kenichi Nakata took a batted ball off his left chest during practices on the 15th.  He was scratched from his start today against Yomiuri because he had trouble throwing the ball.

Yokohama Bay Stars

Tony Blanco started feeling discomfort in his right hamstring during a game against the Yomiuri Giants on the 12th.  He is considered day-to-day and decided not to play on Tuesday after talking things over with the trainer.

Nippon Ham Fighters

Sho Nakata (left pinky) started take soft-toss batting practice on Tuesday.  He could return to the active roster as early as the 22nd (vs Rakuten at Sapporo Dome) -- he is scheduled for another examination in Sapporo on the 20th, will participate in Ichi-gun practices on the 21st, and if everything is ok, could be called up on the 22nd.

Nakata is currently using a bat with a thinner handle to take the strain off his left hand.

Seibu Lions

Yusei Kikuchi felt pain in a different part of his left shoulder on the 13th.  He tossed his first bullpen session since then on Tuesday.  He threw forty pitches and did not feel any pain.
