Yomiuri Giants

Tetsuya Yamaguchi recorded his sixth straight season of sixty or more appearances on Thursday.  He joined Kazuhisa Inao (six) and Noboru Akiyama (six) as the only pitchers in NPB history to pitch in sixty or more games in at least six seasons over their career.

Yakult Swallows

Wladimir Balentien was surprised about the reports of him wanting to return to the US to play in the majors and said to reporters on Thursday, "I plan to my Yakult my last team.  I think."

Hanshin Tigers

The Tigers dropped their seventh straight series on Thursday.  The last time they did that was in 1999 -- nine consecutive series between July and August.

The Tigers have also dropped their last six series at Koshien.
