Masanori Ishikawa became the eighty-sixth pitcher in NPB history to reach the 2,000 innings pitched milestone on Tuesday night -- he started the day at 1,991 innings and tossed a nine-inning complete game.

Yasuhiro Ogawa joined Yoshio Kitagawa (eighteen in 1959) as the only rookies in franchise history to win fifteen or more games.

Randy Messenger recorded his second twelve-win season on Monday.  He joined Gene Bacque (1964-1968) and Matt Keough (1988-1989) as the only foreign pitchers in franchise history to win twelve or more games in two or more seasons.

Messenger is also the first Hanshin pitcher to toss three shutouts in a season since Kei Igawa notched three in 2006 and the first foreign Hanshin pitcher since Bacque recorded three in 1968.
