Yomiuri Giants owner Kojiro Shiraishi spoke to reporters on Tuesday and said he did not think Sadaharu Oh would accept requests for him to become the next NPB commissioner due to various reasons, like age and health concerns.
"It got down to [the six Central League teams] agreeing it would be good if Oh accepted the position, but he is not in a situation where he will easily accept. I feel this will be difficult," Shiraishi said.
He added, "[The candidate] has to be someone all the teams can accept. If any of the teams have someone in mind, they are to contact [owner meeting chair Yoshihiko] Miyauchi and he will bring it all together and then we will think about what to do. ... This will take a little more time."
