Chunichi Dragons

The Dragons announced today that Matt Clark will return to the US on the 30th.  The front office is still uncertain about whether or not they want to sign Clark to an extension.

"He has enough power to hit twenty-five home runs, but he can only play first and does not run well.  He is on the borderline," team official Norihito Nishiwaki said.

Kan Otake picked up his tenth victory of the year on Sunday.  The Carp now have four pitchers with ten or more victories this season -- Kenta Maeda (fifteen wins), Bryan Bullington (eleven wins), Yusuke Nomura (eleven wins), Otake (ten wins).  The last time four Hiroshima pitchers notched double-digit wins was in 1987 -- Yutaka Ono (thirteen wins), Kazuhisa Kawaguchi (twelve wins), Jun Kawabata (ten wins), and Manabu Kitabeppu (ten wins).

The Carp added Tomonori Maeda to the active roster on Sunday to give him one last chance to bid his farewells to fans in the Kanto region.  The media learned of the decision on Friday.

"We will add [T. Maeda] tomorrow and take [Bryan] Bullington off.  I am sure there are people in Tokyo that would like to see him, including his fans.  It will be a chance to say goodbye," Kenjiro Nomura said on Saturday.

Maeda worked out for about six hours on Saturday.  He started with some running and fielding practice.  He then warmed up with some soft-toss batting practice before taking eighty-eight swings against a pitching machine and a live arm.
