UPDATE 10/4 @ 1:11am -

Yomiuri Giants' chairman Tsuneo Watanabe spoke to reporters on Thursday and said that it was going to take a while to select a new commissioner.

"This will not be decided very quickly or easily.  The Central League is more or less decided.  I am not sure about the Pacific League.  They were all saying different things.  It is not like years ago when things got settled quickly based on what the Central League was thinking.  Those times are over," Watanabe said.
