The third-party panel was present at the meeting. They fielded questions from the NPB regarding their report and agreed to look into a number of issues. The issues will be made public once the panel has provided additional information.
If a new commissioner is not selected before Ryozo Kato steps down on the 25th, owner meeting chairman and Orix Buffalo official Yoshihiko Miyauchi will take over as interim commissioner. The NPB chairman will be temporarily filled by someone else.

Yomiuri Giants' chairman Tsuneo Watanabe spoke to reporters on Thursday and said that it was going to take a while to select a new commissioner.
"This will not be decided very quickly or easily. The Central League is more or less decided. I am not sure about the Pacific League. They were all saying different things. It is not like years ago when things got settled quickly based on what the Central League was thinking. Those times are over," Watanabe said.

However, according to Sanspo, the Pacific League appears to be on board with naming eighty-one-year-old Keiichiro Okabe (Cosmo Oil Honorary Chairman, Director) the new NPB commissioner.

NPB commissioner Ryozo Kato held a press conference after the meeting and said, "It is regrettable that I caused a distraction to those involved. The report pointed out that I have a responsibility and I understand and accept that."
