Hanshin Tigers

With the Tigers clinching second place in the Central League on Thursday, they will play host to the Hiroshima Carp during the First Stage of the Climax Series.

Hiroshima Carp

The Game 1 starter for the First Stage of the Climax Series will be Kenta Maeda.  There is a good chance Game 2 will go to Bryan Bullington.  If the series goes to a Game 3, the Carp will likely choose between Kan Otake and Yusuke Nomura.

Rakuten Eagles

Senichi Hoshino likes Hiroyuki Fukuyama's speed and is thinking about using him as a pinch-runner in tight spots during the post-season, this in addition to his main job as reliever.  Fukuyama is open to the idea.

The Eagles will be playing regular season games during the Climax Series for the first time since the introduction of the series in 2007.

The games against Orix were scheduled during the First Stage of the Climax Series in case any of their upcoming home games against Seibu and Lotte get rained out.
