Rakuten Eagles' president Yozo Tachibana told reporters today that they were able to sign Senichi Hoshino to a multi-year deal. The number of years was not disclosed due to confidentiality reasons.
"In a world driven by results, [Senichi Hoshino] left a great mark. The young players are doing a great job, but [he] was patient [with them]. He also provided [Andruw Jones and Casey McGehee] with support. If [he] was not around, we would not have won the pennant," Tachibana said.
Tachibana also said their decision to sign Hoshino to a multi-year deal was to create a winning environment.
