Chunichi Dragons

Morimichi Takagi held a press conference in Nagoya on Tuesday after formally submitting his resignation to the organization.  He took responsibility of the team's performance and apologized.  He also said he was leaving nothing good behind and had no advice to give for the next manager.

Daniel Cabrera returned to the Dominican Republic out of Chubu International Airport on Monday.  He asked Chunichi for a couple of DVDs with footage of Kenta Maeda and Masahiro Tanaka because he wants to study pitch patterns during the off-season.

Hanshin Tigers

Takashi Toritani is one game away from completing his second consecutive season of playing in every inning of every game (fourth time overall).  The last Hanshin shortstop to accomplish the feat was Taira Fujita in 1972 and 1973.

Two other CL shortstops have also recorded back-to-back seasons of playing in every inning of every game: Masaru Uno (1984 and 1985) and Takuro Ishii (2005 and 2006).

Yokohama Bay Stars

Alex Ramirez was surprised when he found out Kiyoshi Nakahata was planning to start him in right for Tuesday's game against Hanshin.  He turned down the idea because, according to Nakahata, he was not prepared to play the outfield.

Sponichi notes that Ramirez did not want the start because he felt younger players should get the playing time.
