[10/9/2013] Three players on Kagoshima Jitsugyo suspended after slapping teammates for breaking rules
The media learned today that three second-year students on the Kagoshima Jitsugyo High School baseball team slapped three first-year teammates as punishment for breaking team rules.
The high school has suspended the three second-year students. The Japan High School Baseball Federation issued a stern warning to the high school and issued one-month game suspensions to the three students.
According to school officials, on the night of September 9, three second-year students on the baseball team slapped three first-year teammates in the face (cheek) three to four times. The second-year students told school officials that they hit their teammates because they were repeatedly breaking team rules: one first-year student was caught using a tablet (banned by the team) and two first-year students broke curfew.
