Yuki Saito started a Phoenix League game against Orix on Thursday and gave up eleven runs (seven earned) on ten hits over five plus innings of work.

"This was the result of me working through issues.  The first three innings were good.  I started giving up runs in the 4th, but part of that also had to do with the defense.  I am heading in the right direction," Saito said.

Chiba Lotte Marines

A female high school student from Mitaka was stabbed to death on Tuesday.  Takumi Kobe tweeted on Thursday that she was got what she deserved.  When Lotte found out about the comment (they received a number of phone calls about it), they asked him to remove it and gave him a stern warning.  Kobe removed the comment and tweeted an apology.

"This is difficult to excuse.  He caused a lot of grief for her family and others involved," team director Nobuhira Hayashi said.

The team is in the process of determining an appropriate punishment for him.

I was reading about the Kobe tweet controversy last night and it was pissing me off. What an idiot. I don’t want to see him on the field any more to be honest.

If you’re going to hold such a moronic and offensive opinion at least show the discretion to keep it to yourself.
