[10/11/2013] Rumors: Chunichi Dragons, Yakult Swallows, Hanshin Tigers, Yokohama Bay Stars, Orix Buffaloes

Chunichi Dragons

The Dragons could offer Takahiro Saeki (43) and Toshio Haru (43) coaching positions -- Saeki as Ni-gun manager and Haru as Ichi-gun batting coach).

Kosei Katsuzaki (48) will likely return as a conditioning coach.

Yakult Swallows

The Swallows admitted on Friday that they offered Shingo Takatsu a job as pitching coach.

Ichi-gun strategy/batting coach Shinichi Sato could be promoted to head coach.  Ni-gun manager Mitsuru Manaka and Ni-gun batting coach Shigeru Sugimura could be promoted to Ichi-gun batting coach positions.

Hanshin Tigers

Tokyo Sports thinks Jason Standridge is more likely to bolt after the season if he fails to get a start during the post-season.

ZakZak notes that if the Tigers are not careful, they may end up losing Yasutomo Kubo to free agency.  If he becomes a free agent, a number of teams, like the Yakult Swallows, could get involved.

Yokohama Bay Stars

The Bay Stars are interested in Ryuzo Yamasaki (55) and Tatsuya Shindo (43) as coaches for next season, possibly as replacements for Yutaka Takagi (chief coach/batting coach, will not be returning in 2014) and Itaru Ninomiya (general coach, will likely be shifted to Ni-gun manager).

Orix Buffaloes

Three team officials, including director Yoshio Murayama, met with Dae-Ho Lee's agent in Osaka on Thursday for the first time.  The meeting lasted about an hour.  Specific numbers were not exchanged.
