The game on Wednesday ended with Masato Akamatsu getting thrown out at third after overrunning the base.  It was the first game to end with a runner getting thrown out while running the bases (excluding stolen base attempts) in Playoff/Climax Series history.  There has only been one other game in postseason history that ended with a runner getting thrown out while running the bases: 1987 Nippon Series between Yomiuri and Seibu -- Tatsunori Hara could not return to first in time on a line out by Sadaaki Yoshimura.
