Over three Climax Series games, the pitching staff allowed three runs and scored nine runs.  That set lows in both categories since the start of the six-game-plus-one format in 2008.  The previous lows were set by Nippon Ham last year - ten runs scored, four runs allowed, three games.

Rakuten Eagles

Hiroaki Shimauchi (left shoulder) joined the Ni-gun team in Miyazaki on Friday.  If he is feeling fine, he should get to play in some rehab Phoenix League games.  Assuming no setbacks, he might be ok to play during the Nippon Series, if the Eagles make it that far.

Chiba Lotte Marines

Craig Brazell became the second player in Playoff/Climax Series history behind Kazuya Fukuura (2010) to hit a decisive home run in extra innings.  Brazell is the first foreign player to record a home run with teams in either league during the Playoffs/Climax Series (Hanshin and Lotte).  Four Japanese players have achieved the feat: Kazuhiro Wada (Seibu and Chunichi), Michihiro Ogasawara (Nippon Ham and Yomiuri), Saburo (Lotte and Yomiuri), and Nishioka (Lotte and Hanshin).
