Hiromitsu Kadota used a 1.2 kilogram training bat during soft-toss batting practice.  The balls he used were about 100 grams heavier at 240 grams.  Ichi-gun batting coach Hiroshi Fujimoto is planning to have hitters use similar methods during fall camp this year -- players will swing the bat 150 times a day, 240 gram baseballs will be used during soft-toss, and bats will be thirty to forty grams heavier than usual.
