Softbank Hawks

Paul Oseguera will likely return to Japan next year with a different hair style.

"Last year I had long hair.  I will probably have a different style next year," he said.

Oseguera attended fall practices at YafuOku Dome before leaving for the US on Saturday.

"I participated for three days and got some good advice from Koji Akiyama and the other coaches.  I will go over everything during my workouts at UCLA.  The level in Japan is pretty high so I will do what I can to prepare before I come back next year," Oseguera said.

Fall practices are set to begin on the 26th.

Mamoru Kishida may have a chance to return to the starting rotation next year.  The right foot he hurt during a game against Nippon Ham on August 13 is close to fully healed.  He plans to attend both fall practices and camp in preparation for the conversion back to starter.

Otani shouldn’t be pitching in October. He should be resting his arm.
What possible good is pitching now going to do for him?

Yeah, it’s also part of the reason why so many Japanese pitchers have a hard time transitioning to the MLB. The rest actually hurts them in the beginning. Just different philosophies.
