Chunichi Dragons

Shinji Tajima tossed fifty-eight pitches in the bullpen at Nagoya Stadium today.  Head coach Shigekazu Mori exchanged words with Tajima before and after the session.

Yakult Swallows

The Swallows announced that Kosuke Matsui retired and will join the staff as a batting practice pitcher.  They also announced that battery coach Chikashi Nakanishi will take on a new job in the front office (scouting department).

Hiroshima Carp

Rainel Rosario signed a contract with Carp Academy in July.  He arrived in Japan in September and is scheduled to attend fall camp in Nichinan.  He hit four over the fence during batting practice at Mazda Stadium on Wednesday.

The Carp Baseball Gallery will be running an exhibit on Tomonori Maeda from November 1 to December 4.  Photos and various memorabilia (uniform, bat, glove, cleats) will be on display.

Hanshin Tigers

Pitching coach Kiyooki Nakanishi is thinking about giving Kazuya Tsutsui a look as a starter.

Ni-gun chief/batting coach Hideo Furuya was at Naruohama on Wednesday and spent about thirty minutes working with Hayato Ito.  Furuya will continue to work with players at the Naruohama facilities in November.

Yokohama Bay Stars

Kiyoshi Nakahata was surprised to hear about Yuta Naito being senryokugai'ed because the team never asked or told him about it.  He plans to ask the organization for an explanation.
