Kan Otake met with the front office on Friday for the second time this off-season and received a formal offer.  He is still not sure what he wants to do with his option.

Assistant hitting coach Thomas O'Malley could get involved in contract negotiation talks with Matt Murton.

Seibu Lions

Team director Haruhiko Suzuki told reporters that he spoke to Hideaki Wakui and Yasuyuki Kataoka and presented them with terms for the 2014 season.

"They were on the team that won the championship in 2008.  They are veterans.  I told them they were needed next year," Suzuki said.

The Lions are reportedly open to signing both players even if they exercise their options to check the market.

Wakui also spoke to reporters and said, "It is fifty-fifty.  I want to be a starter and want to play for a team that needs me."

Chiba Lotte Marines

Toshiaki Imae told reporters on Friday he that he met with the front office and was asked to remain with the organization.

"They told me how they felt about me and what kind of value I bring to the organization.  I was happy [with the things they said]. ... The best would be to reach a nice deal with Lotte.  I would be good if everything fell into place and I was able to stay.  However, I am a little curious about what other teams think about me," Imae said.
