According to a report posted by Sponichi this morning, the Rakuten Eagles are leaning towards allowing Masahiro Tanaka to post after the season, should he so desire. Team president Yozo Tachibana is expected to meet Tanaka at the team offices in Sendai this week, perhaps as early as Monday (10/4).
The organization is apparently ok with posting Tanaka because of what he did for the team this year -- he finished the regular season undefeated and has also performed well during the postseason.
Team owner Hiroshi Mikitani was quoted as saying, "Perhaps we should not let such a great pitcher go to the Majors so easily," back in September. However, it seems may in the organization currently feel they should allow Tanaka to chase his dreams after he helped Tohoku attain their dream of making it to the Nippon Series.
