Yakult Swallows

  • 3rd round draft pick Ryo Akiyoshi poitched in an Industrial League Tournament game against Tokyo Gas on Tuesday.  He started the game and gave up two runs on eight hits over 10.2 innings of work.  He faced forty-three hitters, threw 154 pitches, walked/hit three, and struck out thirteen. Chunichi Dragons

  • The Dragons visited 6th round draft pick Takuto Fujisawa at Seino Unyu headquarters in Ogaki, Gifu on Tuesday. [Nikkan Sports 11/5/2013]

Hiroshima Carp

  • The Carp are hoping 1st round draft pick Daichi Osera takes advantage of having a pitcher like Kenta Maeda around by following him around and watching him practice and work out. [Tokyo Sports 11/4/2013]

Yomiuri Giants

  • The eight members of the 2013 draft class got a tour of Giants Stadium on Tuesday. [Sponichi 11/5/2013]

Softbank Hawks

  • Team officials visited 1st round draft pick Ren Kajiya at JR Kyushu headquarters on Tuesday.  The Hawks are hoping Kajiya can contribute right away. [Sponichi 11/5/2013]

Chiba Lotte Marines

  • 1st round draft pick Ayumu Ishikawa pitched in an Industrial League Tournament game against Panasonic on Tuesday.  He started the game and tossed seven shutout inning.  He faced twenty-two hitters, allowed two hits, walked/hit none, and struck out ten.  His team, Tokyo Gas, blanked Panasonic 2-0. Rakuten Eagles

  • The Eagles visited 2nd round draft pick Yasuhito Uchida at Joso Gakuin High School on Tuesday.  Rakuten plans to have Uchida continue as a catcher, since they can always move him later on, like they did with Takero Okajima. [Nikkan Sports 11/5/2013]
  • 7th round draft pick Kazutomo Aihara started an Industrial League Tournament game against Mitsubishi Juko Kobe on Monday.  He started the game and gave up five runs (one earned) over 1.1 innings of work.  He faced eleven batters, gave up five hits, walked/hit one, and struck out two.  His team, Shichi-ju Shichi Ginko, dropped the game 8-0. [Sanspo 11/4/2013]
