Hideki Kuriyama on how he imagines Shohei Otani's future:

In his third year, he will go 12-5 as a pitcher and hit .300 with fifteen home runs as a hitter.  I want him to become the kind of player that can leave for the Majors in five to six years.

Seibu Lions

Haruki Ihara wants Yuji Kaneko (23) and Kyohei Nagae (20) to gain weight by eating more.  He would like to see both become key components to the team.

Softbank Hawks

The Hawks are scheduled to play a practice game against the Seibu Lions on the 14th.  Ichi-gun players are expected to make appearances in the game.

Kenji Otonari plans to throw about 1,500 pitches during fall camp.  He threw 120 pitches in the bullpen on Monday.  He tossed sessions in each of the first four days of camp and is so far sitting at 286 pitches.

Rakuten Eagles

Miyagi prefectural governor Yoshihiro Murai held a press conference on Tuesday and announced that the Miyagi Prefecture Citizen's Honor Award will be presented to Masahiro Tanaka and the Rakuten Eagles.  A letter of appreciation will be sent to Seniichi Hoshino.
