Seibu Lions

Yasuyuki Kataoka (30) told reporters on Wednesday that he was planning to exercise his FA option.

"I do have a thing for the Seibu organization, but I also earned the right to find out how other teams see me.  I want to take advantage of that," Katoaka said.

Even if Kataoka exercises his option, there remains a chance that he returns to the Lions.

Chiba Lotte Marines

The Marines gave Toshiaki Imae a concrete offer during negotiations on Tuesday.  While the organization is hoping for a quick turn around, Imae told reporters that it was not going to be an easy decision for him and that he wanted to do a little more talking with the team.

According to ZakZak, the Marines may have tried to trade Shunsuke Watanabe to the Yakult Swallows for Ryohei Kawamoto earlier this year, but could not because the veteran's salary (eighty million yen) was too high.  The deal for Kawamoto was ultimately made with Lotte sending Masahiko Tanaka to Yakult.

The Buffaloes may try to sign Softbank's Katsuki Yamazaki.

The Buffaloes are looking into twenty-five-year-old Kenichi Marumo.  He is appealing to the organization because he can play multiple positions in the outfield and infield.

The Buffaloes could have an interest in Yoshitomo Tani as a DH or bat off the bench.  They also feel he has the potential to become a coach down the line.
