Nippon Ham Fighters

Hideki Kuriyama told reporters on Wednesday that he was planning to give Shohei Otani his first start of the year, not during the first series, but at the start of the second series.  That could mean April 1 against Softbank at YafuOku Dome.

The Hawks announced they were parting ways with dormitory superintendent Hiroshi Yugamidani.  They also announced that they re-assigned San-gun INF/base-running coach/assistant dormitory superintendent Takashi Sasagawa to dormitory superintendent and farm assistant.

Okayama prefecture announced they will give Senichi Hoshino a special governor's award.  He was given the same award when he guided the Hanshin Tigers to a pennant in 2003.
