Yasuyuki Kataoka (Seibu Lions) - Class B Free Agent

  • Kataoka likes the Seibu organization and has not ruled out a return.  The Chunichi Dragons are expected to reach out to Kataoka. [Sports Hochi 11/8/2013]
  • The Rakuten Eagles could offer Kataoka a multi-year deal.  The Lions' offer was said to be around 100 million yen at one year.  The Eagles' will likely offer more than 100 million per year. [Nikkan Sports 11/8/2013]

Kenichi Nakata (Chunichi Dragons) - Class C Free Agent

  • The Hanshin Tigers are interested.  However, the Softbank Hawks may have the "home field" advantage.  [Daily Sports 11/8/2013]

Shinya Tsuruoka (Nippon Ham Fighters) - Class B Free Agent

  • The Tigers are looking for a catcher with experience that is not too old.  At thirty-two, Tsuruoka fits that description.  His experience catching Yu Darvish is a plus and makes him that much more attractive to Hanshin.  Like Nakata, the Hawks are also interested in Tsuruoka.  The Tigers could offer him a multi-year deal. [Daily Sports 11/8/2013]
  • The latest reports have the Tigers possibly backing off Tsuruoka because they feel he is more likely to sign with Softbank. [Sports Hochi 11/8/2013]

Hideaki Wakui (Seibu Lions) - Class A Free Agent

  • The Chiba Lotte Marines are looking for help in the starting rotation and will likely be interested.  They cannot afford to get into a bidding war for Wakui, but will probably offer him a multi-year deal. [Daily Sports 11/8/2013]
  • Lotte manager Tsutomu Ito is willing to get involved in negotiations if asked.  Ito really likes Wakui and believes he can record double-digit wins as a member of their starting rotation. [Sports Hochi 11/8/2013]
  • The Rakuten Eagles are looking into Wakui as a possible replacement for Masahiro Tanaka, if he decides to post. [Sports Hochi 11/8/2013]

Katsuki Yamazaki (Softbank Hawks) - Class C Free Agent
