Pitching coach Kazuhisa Kawaguchi is thinking about giving relievers, like Ryota Katsuki, a look as starters, especially since the team had a hard time finding consistency in the middle and back-end of the rotation this year.

The Giants announced that Ko Takahashi will return under an Ikusei contract.  They also extended Ikusei contracts on Takayuki Ogino, Ryota Wada, and Kosuke Naruse.

Yokohama Bay Stars

Kiyoshi Nakahata told reporters that he would like to give the opening day start to a promising young pitcher that has a possible future as ace of the rotation.  That includes pitchers like Kazuki Mishima, Kota Suda, Shoichi Ino, and 1st round draft pick Yuta Kakita.
