[11/14/2013] Hanshin Tigers: Seung Hwan Oh, Mauro Gomez, Blaine Boyer

The Tigers might be concerned about their chances of signing Seung Hwan Oh, reports ZakZak.  The estimated costs are creeping up and Samsung may not seriously listen to offers until after the Asia Series.  The news reports are also not helping.  The last thing the Tigers want is another Ryota Igarashi.

Tokyo Sports reports that Oh may really be looking to sign with an MLB team and that the Hanshin Tigers are just a back-up plan.  Samsung could be pushing Oh to the Majors because they might make more money by posting him.  Oh's agent also recently became independent and may be looking at this as a great opportunity to make a splash by getting his client to sign with an MLB team.

According to Sanspo, the Tigers do not want to get into a bidding war and might end up setting a deadline on negotiations with Oh.

The Tigers are looking into Dennis Sarfate as a possible candidate to close next season.  Oh is still their top priority, but they are concerned about his price tag and are compiling a list of alternatives.

The Tigers are thinking about offering Mauro Gomez the number forty-four as a symbol of their hope that he can become a player like Randy Bass or Cecil Fielder.  They both wore the number when they played for Hanshin.
