Yomiuri Giants

Yuya Kubo tossed eighty-eight pitches in the bullpen on Thursday.  Tatsunori Hara carefully watched over the session and told reporters that he expects him to be ready to help the team next year.  Kubo has been working his way back from reconstructive right elbow surgery he had in May 2012.

The Tigers will not be able to use Kin Baseball Stadium as a secondary field during Ginoza, Okinawa spring camp next year because Kin officials plan to give teams without primary stadiums in Okinawa priority access to the facilities.  This could put Kosuke Fukudome at Ni-gun spring camp next year, depending on how his left calf is feeling -- without Kin Baseball Stadium (grass surface), the Tigers will likely use Ginoza Dome (artificial turf) as their main secondary field.

Development coordinator Masayuki Kakefu's three points to hitting: 1) learn how to hit the fastball properly, 2) review performances, especially after good games, 3) learn the strike zone.
