Yusei Kikuchi will be moving out of the team dorm and into his own place later this month.  Players drafted out of high school are usually allowed to move out of the dorms after three years.  Kikuchi had to stick around an extra year because he won just four games in 2012.  The team promised to let him move out this year if he won eight or more games.

Softbank Hawks

Barbaro Canizares worked out at first base during fielding practices on Saturday.  He told reporters his preference was to play first since he has not played the outfield over the last four to five years.  He also took fifty-five swings during batting practice and hit twelve over the fence.

Loek Van Mil is scheduled to toss situational batting practice on the 19th.

Rakuten Eagles

Senichi Hoshino does not plan on giving any players a starting job next year just because they played on a regular basis this year (in his eyes, no one has played well enough to be considered an everyday player).  He is still not satisfied with performance levels and will have everyone compete for positions next year.

Hoshino would also ideally like to see each player learn how to play one other position.  For example, catchers can learn how to play third or first, outfielders second and short.
