The NPB resumed talks on the posting system with the MLB on the 20th. The NPB spoke to MLB COO Rob Manfred over the phone and told him that they wanted to come to an agreement on a new posting system as soon as possible.
The MLB is said to be working on a new proposal that could take a few weeks to create. The NPB will begin discussions on a new posting agreement during an upcoming owner meeting on the 22nd and could draft a list of their own suggestions.
Sports Hochi notes that Alex Rodriguez's grievance hearing could end up delaying the process.
