So…who is going to hit clean up for Chunichi?

All they have left is Hirata, Morino and Wada who can hit for power. None of those three hit more than 20 home runs and they get rid of Clark who hit 25?

Looks like some serious re-building for Chunichi. Wada is going to be 42 and Morino is going to be 36.

Looks like Chunichi got weaker this off-season, Giants stronger, Tigers a little bit stronger with Oh as a closer and the Carp lost a little bit by losing Otake.

Still like the Carp’s chances for A-class next year as well. Chunichi looks like they are cost-cutting for the next couple of years and are destined for another B-class finish (especially if they lose Nakata as well).

    Chunichi loses Ibata, Nakata, Clark.

Look at the offensive numbers of the year in which Chunichi last won the Central League championship. Ochiai is back.

Chunichi only has one foreign player (Luna) signed that I know of, not sure if Cabrera will be back or not.
There are foreign first-base candidates out there, the offseason is just starting.
Also, Shuhei Takahashi will likely put up better offensive numbers than Ibata next year. Losing Ibata’s defensive may be the bigger problem.

The Dragons signed Cabrera to a one-year extension in September, so he will be back next season.

Mori has been scouting the Dominican Republic and a number of names have surfaced, like Anderson Hernandez [ http://yakyubaka.com/2013/11/23/11222013-chunichi-dragons-infielder-anderson-hernandez/ ] and Nelson Payano [ http://yakyubaka.com/2013/11/24/11242013-chunichi-dragons-looking-nelson-payano/ ]. Manny Ramirez’s name has also been dropped [ http://yakyubaka.com/2013/11/08/1172013-rumors-seung-hwan-oh-kenichi-nakata-yomiuri-giants-chunichi-dragons-hanshin-tigers/ ].
