Sho Nakata will spend most of December working out in Hiroshima.  He has plans to workout with Hanshin's Tsuyoshi Nishioka in January.

Softbank Hawks

Shota Takeda is looking to push his weight to ninety kilograms during the off-season.  He started fall camp at seventy-nine kilograms and has already gained five kilograms.

He will workout in Saitozaki in December and continue his training in Los Angeles in January.

Nobuhiko Matsunaka will be getting another substantial cut in salary this winter.  Last year, he saw his salary drop from 130 million to 70 million.  He could see his salary drop by another sixty-five to seventy percent this year.

The Marines raised 522,000 yen through a charity auction they held during fan appreciation day on Saturday.  The money will be donated to welfare funds in the Chiba area.

Alessandro Maestri returned to Italy after attending fall camp.

"I have no time to spend with a girlfriend.  As long as I am a player, my girlfriend is baseball. ... I will not consider marriage for two or three years," Maestri said.
