The media learned on Saturday that Yasuyuki Kataoka could make a decision about where he wants to play next year some time within the next few days.  Asides from his current team, the Seibu Lions, Kataoka has received offers from Rakuten (three years, maximum 500 million yen) and Orix (three years, total 500 million yen).  The Yomiuri Giants are also rumored to be interested and could still reach out to the thirty-year-old free agent.

Sponichi has heard that Otake was at Mazda Stadium on Saturday to say his goodbyes to staff and players.  The free agent denied that he informed the team of his decision to leave.

A formal announcement could be made as early as the 25th.
