The Tigers are planning to give Mauro Gomez a look at third base.  If he is serviceable at third base, it would give the team more depth and would open the door to Takahiro Arai playing some games at first.  It would also provide some more friendly competition for players like Ryota Arai and Ryota Imanari.

If Gomez is unable to play third, T. Arai might end up stuck on the bench.

The Tigers are expecting an increase in Korean fans with the addition of Seung Hwan Oh and could set up a Hangul version of their website.  A number of other things are also being considered, like Oh merchandise and lunch box menus.

Oh is scheduled to visit Japan in early December for a press conference.  He will also meet team officials, the coaching staff, and get a tour of the facilities.  But before that happens, GM Katsuhiro Nakamura will head to Korea (also in early December) to finalize their contract and hold a press conference for the Korean media.

The Tigers presented Minoru Iwata with the organization's third Tadashi Wakabayashi Award on Monday.  The award is given to Hanshin players for their philanthropic contributions.  Iwata has type 1 diabetes and has been been an active presence in the community.  He started donating 10,000 yen to a research foundation for every victory he recorded during the season since 2009.
