Shintaro Fujinami was presented with the Miki House/Sanspo MVP Award on Monday.  Miki House president Koichi Kimura promised to reward Fujinami ten million yen if he managed to break Masahiro Tanaka's consecutive victories record with thirty straight wins over the next two seasons.  Kimura also promised to give next year's Miki House/Sanspo MVP ten million yen if the team managed to win the Nippon Series (up from the usual one million yen).

Seung Hwan Oh has asked the Tigers if he can attend pre-spring camp training in Ginoza, Okinawa next year because he wants to get a jump start on the new chapter of his life.  The early start will give him a chance to meet some of his new teammates and get used to the new environment.

Tokyo Sports wonders if 2014 will mimic what happened in 2009.

The team finished in second with a 82-59-3 record in 2008.  They failed with their first two picks in the 1st round of the draft and they could not sign Daisuke Miura after preparing the number eighteen.  They fell to fourth place in 2009 with a 67-73-4 record.
