Three Eagles were presented with Golden Gloves during a ceremony in Tokyo on Thursday.  Players were scheduled to meet with the media after the proceedings, but Rakuten canceled their time slot, most likely out of respect for Masahiro Tanaka -- he is apparently a bit on edge with the constant hounding from the media with regards to the posting system.

Tanaka was presented with the 2013 Mainichi Sports Award on Thursday.  Motohiro Shima was on hand to accept the Mainichi Special Award on behalf of the Rakuten Eagles's organization.
