[12/4/2013] Hisanori Takahashi, Gosuke Katoh, Posting System

Hisanori Takahashi returned to Japan on Tuesday and told reporters he was open to returning to Japan next year.

"I do not know whether it will be baseball or yakyu, my agent is handling it for me.  I just want to be ready either way," said Takahashi to reporters.

Gosuke Katoh made Topps Short Season-A/Rookie All-Star Team at second base.

Gosuke Katoh (19) of Poway, Calif., paced the Gulf Coast League with a .924 OPS and tied for the league lead with half a dozen homers. The Yankees second baseman hit .310 and was second in the GCL in slugging percentage (.522). Katoh also was among the top 10 in the league in on-base percentage (.402), hits (57) and batting average. The New York Yankees drafted Katoh in the second round out of high school in this year's June Draft.

The NPB resumed posting system discussions with the MLB today over the telephone.  NPB Secretary General Atsushi Ihara told reporters negotiations were forward moving.  The two sides are scheduled to speak again on Thursday.

Prior reports have suggested that the MLB is looking to implement a max threshold of about twenty million US dollars on bids, but the NPB is thought to be seeking a higher limit.
