Dai-Kang Yoh got a hefty raise and signed a two-year deal on Wednesday.  He plans to use the extra money to buy a place in Taiwan for his wife.

Chiba Lotte Marines

Yuji Nishino was offered the number twenty-nine after the season.  He is expected to accept the offer when he meets the team for salary negotiations later this month.

Katsuya Kakunaka got an eight million yen raise on Wednesday and will make fifty million next year.  That is the highest salary for a player out of the Independent Leagues in Japan.

The Marines announced that Shinya Yamamuro will take over as the new team president on January 1, 2014.  Current Team President Iekuni Nakamura will be stepping down on the 31st.
