Hideto Asamura was originally told to get ready for a conversion from first base to third base back in October.  That changed to second base when Yasuyuki Kataoka decided to sign with the Yomiuri Giants.

Takahiro Norimoto got a forty-eight million yen raise and will make sixty million next season.  The sixty million yen salary for a second-year player ties the franchise high set by Masahiro Tanaka in 2008.  The forty-eight million yen raise set a new franchise record for a player that finished his rookie season.  The previous high of forty-five million was set by Tanaka after the 2007 season.
