The Lions reportedly have an interest in Alex Ramirez.  Ramirez told reporters that he believes he still has enough to bat .300, hit twenty to thirty home runs, and drive in eighty to ninety runs.

Softbank Hawks

Ryota Igarashi left Japan to begin his training in the US on Sunday.  He will start things out in Arizona and then head to Los Angeles in January.  He will remain in the US until late-January.  Before leaving, Igarashi told reporters he wanted to continue working on his fastball.

Rakuten Eagles

Masahiro Tanaka will not be going on the victory trip to Hawaii because there are concerns the media (including those from the United States) will disrupt things.

Motohiro Shima's salary negotiations on Saturday lasted about ninety minutes.  The bulk of the time was spent on talking about next season -- the two sides only spent ten to fifteen minutes on actual contract negotiations.

Chiba Lotte Marines

Yuji Nishino has been traveling to QVC Marine from the player dormitory using public transportation.

"It would be nice if fans noticed me, but no one ever does.  I want them to know it is ok to approach me," Nishino said.

Nishino is currently studying for his drivers license and expects to secure one before the end of the year.  However, he has no immediate plans to purchase a car and will continue to rely on public transportation.
