Former Yomiuri Giants and Nippon Ham senryokugai Tomohiro Nioka has reportedly decided to retire.  He is scheduled to spent time in the United States as a coach in training with the New York Yankees (minor leagues).

Chunichi Dragons

Yohei Oshima threw twenty pitches into a net on Saturday under watchful eyes of the team trainer.  It was the first time he threw a ball since he had surgery on his left elbow in October.

Yasuhiro Ogawa plans to donate six dozen rubber baseballs to his hometown Tahara, Aichi for every victory he records next season with Yuhei Nakamura behind the plate.

Hiroshima Carp

Kyohei Nakamura managed to push his weight up from seventy-four to eighty-two over the last couple of months.

Nakamura has plans to work out with Yuya Fukui and Tatsuya Oishi in Tokyo during the off-season.
