The Seibu Lions signed thirty-year-old infielder Takeya Nakamura to a four-year deal worth a maximum estimated total two billion yen (includes incentives). His salary next season will be 350 million yen (up fifty million yen) plus incentives.
Nakamura finished the second year of a three-year deal this past season. The third year of his contract was replaced by the new four-year deal.

Nakamura on signing another multi-year deal with the Lions:
I love this team. They helped bring me up. I did a lot of thinking and I thought it might not be a bad thing to play out a career with one team.
Nakamura reportedly told team officials during negotiations that he wanted to be a Seibu lifer.
