Yakult Swallows

  • The 2013 draft class officially signed contracts with the Swallows after getting their physicals on Wednesday. [Nikkan Sports 12/11/2013]

Yokohama Bay Stars

  • The Bay Stars came to terms with 3rd round draft pick Hiroki Minei today.  They also held a press conference to introduce him.  He was assigned the number thirty-nine. [Daily Sports 12/11/2013]

Chunichi Dragons

  • 5th round draft pick Daisuke Sobue's family runs a company called Nippon Seika.  They make caramel candy.  One of the products is sold by the Hanshin Tigers at their team stores as Hanshin Tigers-wo Nametara Akan Milk Caramel-ha Nametomo Eede. [Nikkan Sports 12/11/2013]

Hiroshima Carp

  • Kenjiro Nomura sees their top four draft picks from this season as players that can contribute right away and could assign them to Ichi-gun spring camp.  1st round draft pick Daichi Osera and 2nd round draft pick Allen Kuri are candidates for the starting rotation.  4th round draft pick Keita Nishihara could help bolster the bullpen.  3rd round draft pick Kosuke Tanaka could be in line to take over Eishin Soyogi.  5th round draft pick Yuta Nakamura, the only player drafted out of high school, will likely be assigned to Ni-gun spring camp. [Daily Sports 12/12/2013]
  • 2nd round draft pick Kuri may have been scouted by the adult video industry, but has never appeared in one and does not understand why some people are saying he did.  "I have never been in one.  You can search all you like, you will never find one," Kuri said. [Daily Sports 12/12/2013]
  • 3rd round draft pick Tanaka filed marriage papers with his wife back in March and will hold a wedding ceremony on the 21st.  The honeymoon has been postponed indefinitely so that he can focus on preparing for his first full year as a professional player.
