Team officials, the manager, and pitching coaches kept Shohei Otani's schedule a secret this past season (only they knew what was going on).  It caused some problems for some position players because they were not always sure how to prepare -- were they going to be in the line-up, or on the bench.

The coaches are planning to be more open about Otani's schedule next season since they plan on using him on a more regular basis.
