The Central League is pushing to expand video replay to include catches up against the wall for the 2014 season.  The Pacific League is concerned the game will change because expanding the parameters could ultimately lead to no limits on video replay.  They are expected to go along with the changes after more deliberations.

The media learned today that the next NPB Commissioner will most likely be decided some time early next year.  The Central League has decided on one candidate, but the Pacific League remains split.  Any new candidate must attain seventy-five percent of more votes during an owner meeting to become the next commissioner.

Interim Commissioner and Orix Buffaloes' Acting Owner Yoshihiko Miyauchi is trying to get everyone on the same page.  If a decision is not reached this year, Yokohama Bay Stars' Owner Makoto Haruta will take over as new interim commissioner on January 1.  That could push things in favor of the CL's candidate.
