Rakuten Eagles' President Yozo Tachibana spoke to reporters again today at the team offices in Sendai and said nothing had been decided. He admitted to speaking to Owner Hiroshi Mikitani, but also said no specifics were discussed. He avoided setting any deadlines and said it was not their intention to drag things out and that they were trying to reach a decision as quickly as possible.
"It has only been four days [since the new agreement became official] so we have not really gotten around to talking specifics yet. We are at a stage where we have a better feel for things, for the rules, for the new agreement and our discussions are taking those things into consideration. [Tanaka] is a great Japanese pitcher. He is our ace. Our job is to create a team that can win. This is not something that can be decided easily. I hope everyone can understand," Tachibana said.
Masahiro Tanaka worked out at Kleenex Stadium but made no mention of the posting system.
