Nippon Ham Fighters

Atsunori Inaba started his professional career at seventy-five kilograms.  He was listed at ninety-four kilograms this season.  He told students during a lecture at Hokkai-Gakuen University on Saturday that he got a little pudgy this year and weighed 100.4 kilograms.  He also spoke about the time he finished off an entire bag of consomme-flavored potato chips in one sitting.  He hopes to lose about ten kilograms by the start of spring camp.

Seibu Lions

Kazuhisa Makita weighed eighty-five kilograms during the past season.  He is down to eight-three kilograms and hopes to be at about eighty-one next season.

Ryota Wakiya may have been left off the list of protected players the Yomiuri Giants submitted on Friday.  According to Tokyo Sports, the Lions could select him as part of their compensation for losing Yasuyuki Kataoka.

Softbank Hawks

Shota Takeda threw seventy-one pitches to a squatting catcher at the Saitozaki training facilities today.  He did not to toss a bullpen session during fall camp in November because of concerns about his right shoulder.
